UX for Mobile App. Designed for Cineplex Entertainment.

 Cineplex is a well known Canadian brand that owns and operates the dominant  share of the movie theatre business in Canada. Cineplex store is a digital movie destination that offers 1000’s of titles to rent or buy,  and is part of the Cineplex movie theatre offering through Superticket  and SCENE programs. 

Cineplex is a well known Canadian brand that owns and operates the dominant share of the movie theatre business in Canada. Cineplex store is a digital movie destination that offers 1000’s of titles to rent or buy, and is part of the Cineplex movie theatre offering through Superticket and SCENE programs. 

 I worked with Cineplex to design the store mobile app with the primary focus on user centric design, while utilizing the already established brand experience that many have come to expect from Cineplex. In order to successfully complete the task, the majority of my time was spent researching and coming up with accurate user personas, analyzing our competitors and their offerings, working on wireframes and prototypes, identifying features and continually iterating based on new insights and data.

I worked with Cineplex to design the store mobile app with the primary focus on user centric design, while utilizing the already established brand experience that many have come to expect from Cineplex. In order to successfully complete the task, the majority of my time was spent researching and coming up with accurate user personas, analyzing our competitors and their offerings, working on wireframes and prototypes, identifying features and continually iterating based on new insights and data.

 I was able to conduct weekly in-person moderated user testing sessions to collect ongoing feedback and to continuously improve the product based on real world data. It allowed me to identify some of the major user paint points and find opportunities to address them. The final result was a thoroughly user tested product that was successful on multiple metrics, addressed initial limitations, was aligned with Cineplex business goals and needs, and incorporated an existing Cineplex digital ecosystem, the SCENE program and the Cineplex Connect single sign on account as part of the unified brand offering.
